Now, for the digging!

May 5th and May 12th:  Basement and footings are dug.  Delay was due to the fact that the building permit was delayed. Cheboygan County had been without a head building inspector and had sent our plans down to Lansing for approval, which was the equivalent of sending them into a black hole.  A new inspector was hired, and he came in to work a couple of weeks before his actual start date to approve our plans.
